Male African Moon moth born and raised in Maine. He was cherished by his handler and I created this memorial so he may be loved even in his death. Natural death insects may be seen as less desirable due to their condition, but every tear on the wing shows the beauty of living out his full life cycle. He is posed on a large selenite tower and surrounded by pink persicaria longiseta flowers. The bottom of the selenite is lush with fern moss and has two lady beetles. The base contains moss bark, leucobryum moss and preserved mushrooms. The display itself has repairs done on the top hinge.
